Could Be Pretty Cool News: Creative Tech Edition
Hey Creative Bestie!
Sorry this is coming out a day late, we're doing A LOT right now and we can't wait to share some BIG announcements this summer! We're incredibly excited about the partnerships we're forming in the science and tech space, exploring the convergence of creativity and technology, and how these innovations can support the wellbeing of our communities.
Atlanta Tech Week Community Partnership
We're proud to be community partners for Atlanta Tech Week, which runs from June 8th-13th. Atlanta is home to incredible innovators and creators who are shaping the future at the intersection of technology and creativity. We'll see you around town during the festivities, so please say hi if you spot us!
The Young Creator Electorate Special Release
Last year we were participants in the inaugural Georgia Public Broadcasting Student Voices Collective (more about our continued involvement next time!). During this collaboration, we produced the pilot episode of The Young Creator Electorate, which explored the role of AI in creative work. In honor of tech and creativity converging, we're releasing it for the first time as a Could Be Pretty Cool News special episode. These young creators offer refreshingly nuanced perspectives on embracing AI as a collaborative tool while addressing concerns about copyright, authenticity, and the potential impact on early-career opportunities.

Featured Guest Appearances

I was a featured guest on two fantastic podcasts recently! First, I appeared on the "Out Think Influencers" podcast for the episode "How to Evaluate Science Communicators," sharing my thoughts on building authentic connections between scientific research and creative communities, and how we can better support science communicators who are bridging these important worlds.
I was also a guest on the Tech & Soul podcast for the episode "The Rise of the Creative Technologist." Our conversation covers a lot of ground but one of the most fascinating topics was tracking my career journey from theater sound design to podcasting to AI-driven audio experiences.
Metrics & Mingling 2025
Metrics and Mingling 2025 is nearing capacity! Don't miss your chance to connect with Atlanta's most innovative creators and technologists! Reserve your spot today, June 9th, 6-9pm at The Supermarket ATL.
"Pretty Cool" Partner Productions
BRAIDed Episode 2 is now live! Our partners at The EcoWomanist Institute Southeast (EWISE) continue to explore the intersection of sustainability, innovation, and community through their powerful podcast series.
Speaking of BRAID, they've launched applications for BRAID: Groundbreaking Leadership Incubator for Black Women in Agriculture and Innovation. This visionary incubator for emerging Black womanist farmers and women of color innovators is based in Atlanta and rooted in the U.S. South. Applications are being accepted through July 15, 2025. This program represents exactly the kind of convergence we're celebrating, where creativity, technology, and community wellbeing come together to create transformative change.
As always, thank you for being part of this incredible creative community. The future is looking Pretty Cool indeed. 😎
Best of luck in all your endeavors!
